2. "Where were you before?" He asked.

3. "What is his name?" Sivasankar asked.

4. "I don't know master," sidda said.

5. "Why did they send you away?" Sivasankar asked.

6. "They left the town, master," Sidda said, giving the stock reply.

7. She looked at Sidda and said, "He deosn't seem to me worse than the others we have had."

8. "Have you done it?" Asked Leela.

9. "Does the moon know you?" Asked Leela.

10. He sought relief by saying, "I think your mother is calling you in to dinner."

11. "Tell me a story, Mother," Leela said.

12. "Can't you tell the story of the elephant?" Leela asked.

13. Leela made a noise of depreciation and asked, "Why shouldn't Sidda sit in our chair, Mother?"

14. "Where is he now?" Asked the wife.

15. "Don't go near him." The inspector said, stopping her.

16. "What a devil you must be to sted a thing from such an innocent child!" Remarked the inspector.

17. The inspector said to the constable. "Take him to the station."

18. His daughter aked, "Where is Sidda?"

19. "How did it get into the tamarind pot?" Mother asked.

20. "Why didn't you say so before? Asked Leela's mother.

21." I don't know "said Leela.

22." Bah! What a rough fellow must be! "said his wife with a shiver.

17. The inspector ordered the constable to take him to the stations.
