To a student a night before an examination cannot be like any other night. I had an experience of such a different night. It was the night before the Madhyamik Examination. It was the first public examination in my life. Naturally, I was full of tension and anxiety. I was busy revising my lessons. But I found that I had forgotten some of the lessons. So I was getting nervous. I was at a loss what to do the very next morning in the examination hall. I regretted my neglect in studies in the early part of the year. I also remembered my parents’ repeated pieces of advice not to neglect my studies. But I gave a deaf ear to them then. Now it was too late. I found it useless to cry over spilt milk. So I decided to concentrate on some selected questions and answers and go to the examination hall depending on the favour of luck. It was past mid-night. Then I realised that it was useless to burn the night oil. So I went to bed with a prayer to the goddess of learning to save me in the next day’s ordeal.
