Paragraph on visit to a place of historical importance | Short school essay on visit to a place of historical importance

Visit to a place of historical importance

There are many historical places all over the world Murshidabad is one of them. Every historical place speaks about its own time and culture. I had a strong desire to visit this place once in my life time. It fulfilled last winter.

During last winter I had a visit to a historical place of Murshidabad district which is located in West Bengal, in Eastern India. I spend a wonderful time visiting several historical sites in Murshidabad that includes the Palaces, Castles, Mosques, temples, and the remains of the reigning period of Nawab Siraj-Ud-Dullah.

I enjoyed excavating the historical truth behind the heaps of debris of the past remains. I had a visit to the famous Hazarduari Palace of Murshidabad, Katra Masjid, Old Cossimbazar Rajbari, Motijheel Park, Khosh Bagh, House of Jagath Seth, Nasipur Palace, Kiriteswari Temple, Kathgola Gardens, and Pareshnath Temple.

The Hazarduari Palace is built in a vast premise on the banks of the Bhagirathi river with spectacular architecture of the entire palace. The architecture has a Greek influence with thousands of doors from which it derives the name ‘Hazarduari.’

The similar one we have seen at ‘Jagath Seth’s House’ the ride on the horse carriage to this marvelous palace was fascinating for all of us. After visiting the Hazarduari Palace, we went to ‘Katra Masjid’ which is also spread across a vast area with wonderfully maintained garden and massive stone pillars resembling the Islamic architecture. It has a great historical value built by Nawab Murshid Quli Khan. This place bears the Burial Tomb of the Nawab. Our next visit was to Old Cossimbazar Rajbari and House of Jagat Seth. The Old Cossimbazar Rajbari has an architectural importance which emphasizes on the remains of the Old Palace that are quite well maintained by the State Government.

It was aheart-wrenching visit to the historical places in Murshidabad which left the impression of the Nawabi reign in Bengal. I spent the whole day there looking at the great historical place. Indeed, it was a great experience to visit such a place which I enjoyed most. It will peep through my mind's eye for a long time.
